The two remaining bridges were replaced using the Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) technique. The ABC , or hyper-builds consisted of demolishing the existing bridge deck and replacing with a prefabricated, precast concrete bridge deck units. During the hyper-builds, traffic was shifted to the local lanes on the GSP to the express lanes. The local lanes were then shut down for 56 hours from Friday night at 11:00 pm then re-opened at 5:00 am Monday morning before the rush hour. This technique was used on two bridges over 6 different weekends.
